My name is Maud IJsebaert and I work as an acting junior civil-law notary in the Corporate Law department. I advise entrepreneurs from the vantage of my specialist knowledge, but with a broad perspective. My focus is on the relevant legal questions without losing sight of the desires and objectives of the entrepreneur. In my work, this translates into an accessible style and customer-oriented approach. In my work, I particularly focus on the human aspect. Although my cases concern businesses and their related legal structures, it is important to remember that there is also an entrepreneur, who is personally involved, behind the issues. Sometimes a client will come to us with a particular request, but it transpires after the initial consultation that they are looking for a completely different legal arrangement or solution. That is why it is important to always start by mapping out the client's wishes from the vantage of our specialist knowledge but with a broad perspective. This is the essence of the individualized service, which hallmarks our law firm and my approach to work.
Het mooiste is wat mij betreft als het juridisch inhoudelijke samenvalt met het menselijke aspect. Dat is bij uitstek het geval bij het opstellen van aandeelhoudersovereenkomsten. Ik zit dan met de compagnons aan tafel en leg hen allerlei scenario's voor waarover ze afspraken met elkaar moeten maken. Wat als een van hen arbeidsongeschikt raakt, mag iemand dan aandeelhouder blijven? Of als iemand overlijdt, mogen de erfgenamen de aandelen dan houden of moeten ze die aanbieden aan de compagnon? Ik vergelijk een aandeelhoudersovereenkomst dan ook vaak met huwelijkse voorwaarden. Je hoopt natuurlijk het document er nooit bij te hoeven pakken, maar het geeft rust dat je de afspraken samen al hebt gemaakt op het moment dat alles nog goed gaat voor het geval dat op enig moment niet meer zo is.
